Joanna Gaston, founded The Kind Cake, a cupcake shop specializing in handcrafting cupcakes that are gluten-free in January of 2014. Gaston started the Nashville, Tennessee based company with a mission catalyze a kindness movement while providing a healthier alternative to the conventional cupcake, without compromising great taste. The little cakes, affectionately known as ‘kind cakes’, are gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free and soy-free. Four flavorful options are available: vanilla topped with toasted organic coconut; chocolate topped with sea salt sprinkles, nana bread and carrot cake. Each little cake is equipped with an act of kindness, one that The Kind Cake encourages you show someone else. Not only are you being kind to your body, you become an active part of a movement that is sure to bring a lot of needed joy into this world. The Kind Cake has quickly gained traction since its January 22nd launch. They have provided their kind cakes for Dierks Bentley, One Republic, Paradigm Talent Agency, and Nathan Chapman—Grammy Award winning producer for Taylor Swift’s album “Fearless”. In addition to this, founder, Joanna Gaston, is working with Nashville based songwriters on an album for The Kind Cake to help raise funds for the Nashville based startup.
